It warmed up to a balmy 32 degrees. The sun was bright enough to soften the frozen crust of dirt so I could go detect.I hunted the parking area of an old rodeo grounds.I found 23 coins in 1 hour and 20 minutes.I found 2 silver Roosevelt dimes,1962-D and a 1964-D,2 wheaties 1945-D and a 1957-D.5 clad quarters,4 clad dimes and 3 copper pennies. The rodeo grounds has been hunted real hard by other detectorists in the past. The parking area doesn't seem to have been hunted much. The silver was 1 to 2 inches deep, the wheaties were 3 to 4 inches deep. The ground is almost a solid carpet of beavertail style pulltabs. The first silver dime gave a belltone and low tone depending on the sweep direction. It had a beavertail pulltab right on top of it.It's 20 degrees outside right now.If it warms up tomorrow I'll go back for a possible silver fix before it freezes solid. The deer were out every where. The bucks are chasing does right now.I saw 7 bucks while detecting.Love the scenery.Bill
