3300 vs Omega?

So how does the Bounty Hunter 3300 stack up against the Teknetics Omega? Detection depth, target ID, etc. Also, are the Omega and the Bounty Hunter Platinum the same machine, or is the Platinum an Omega that didn't quite pass quality control?

LOL.........didn't pass quality control..........the 3300 is not a multi-microprocessor with a defective processor that gets re-branded under a different model name. First Texas doesn't re-brand 'defective' detectors. However, the Omega is far superior to the 3300 in all aspects. So as Onbrake recommended........spend the extra dollars.........buy the Omega.....well worth the price difference.

No relationship between the 3300 and the Omega other than being made in the same factory. Between the two the Omega is hands down the superior machine, no surprise since they're not in the same price category, and the Omega is a much newer design. Not to knock the 3300, it's an excellent product in its price range.

The Platinum and the Omega are in the same platform family, but are different products at different price points. The Omega is the top of the line in that platform family.

If you look at photos of the Platinum and the Omega, it's rather obvious that the two things are different products, there's no way to sort Omegas and slap a Platinum label on the fallout, besides which the Platinum came before the Omega. And the Platinum is a darn good machine in its price category, the top of the Bounty Hunter lineup, with hots very close to the Teknetics Omega.

Thanks guys for the feedback. I am pretty spoiled by Tesoro;s but am looking to try something different and have heard a lot of good about the Omega as well as good reviews on the 3300 and Platinum. May have to give one of them a try.

I agree with Dave. If you don't want to spring for the cost of an Omega..........the Platnium is a 'best buy' considering the great performance you get vs the cost. Also, if you decide to get any detector from First Texas, make sure you purchase it from a factory authorized dealer. If you buy from unauthorized seller, you will not get the awesome 5 year parts & labor warranty that buying authorized will get you. You can call First Texas to verify if seller is authorized. The Teknetics toll free is 1-800-413-4131.
Best of success in whichever detector you purchase.

I cant seem to find the topic but Monty has gone over the differences between the B.H. Platinum and the Gamma 6000.I remember him saying not even close.
