had a top day hit my favourite park today with the exp II + 15 inch wot coil for 4 hours and hit big silver.
i still cant believe all these coins i got today i"v hit this park hard in the past and the finds were slowing down but today wow i put the success down to ground coverage with the bigger coil.
so all up i got 4 silver florins about the same size as a half dollar 3x 1947 1x 1946 1 silver threepence 1943 1 penny 1951 4 half Penny's 1943-1950-1955-1960 and 28 1c + 2c peaces.
i use a whites pin pointer and it "s not working that well i scratched one of the florins not to happy about that i think i"ll have to buy a sun ray so i stop scratching my silver.
this is the most florins i"v found in a day. the coins were between 6-8 inch deep. hope you enjoy the photo.
thanks

To find that many Silver Florins in one outing is outstanding. You would have thought that they would have been found long ago since they are about the size of a Half Dollar. Just goes to show that some sites still have some nice surprises left for the patient detectorist. Also, getting the Sunray Probe is something you will not regret. You will actually ask yourself how you ever detected without one, even using the White's Pinpointer all this time. So go ahead and get one since it will be the best purchase that you will have ever made for an upgrade to your Explorer and a very long overdue one at that. Continued Success, Good Luck and HH.

You're doing pretty good in that park. I'll have to start going after those deeper signals so that I can find some of those goodun's.:detecting:

Well done Mate, what state are you from? I am also looking at geting a Sunray probe, if you need any info on who sells them in Aust, drop me a line as I have been looking into this over the past week.

Mike:beers:

thanks James most of the detector users in Australia are after gold nuggets or hunt the beach so we don't have as many people looking for old coins as in the US.
most of the obvious parks have been hunted hard but you can usually find one or two oldies in them i try to hit the less obvious parks you have a higher Chance of finding old coins.
this park has three old schools around it and allot of people walking through it so it"s a good spot to hunt.
mick witch part of aussie are you in ???? i love getting the oldies i"d like to get out in the bush and hit some of the old homesteads and find some 1850s traders tokens but the price of petrol makes it hard probably cheaper to buy them at the coin store.
thanks

hi mike I'm in Melbourne Vic. yeah let me know if you find some one who sells them in Australia i"m sick of dinging my silver coins i"v got a whites but i"d have more luck waving a stick in the hole out of the 100s of times i"v used it i"v only found 5 coins in the hole with it and the plastic housing is cracking. owell you live and learn.

Aahhh Lazyaussie, I'm so glad that coil is producing for you !

That's a hot patch you're working,
you are getting a lot of florins for sure...:detecting:

Good going mate !

thanks snowy i love the coil i can clean the parks out of silver so much quicker with the big coil you"ll probably regret selling me that coil as there"ll be no silver left in Melbourne shortly
i don't know whats up with all the florins but you don't see me complaining the more big silver the better.
hows the uni probe going ???
owell i"m off to find more oldies i"ll let ya know how i go.
lazyaussie

LA the Uniprobe is really good,
I've been out hunting with in on a grass verge we call a "nature strip" here in Australia,
our Stateside "'brothers of the coil'" use another term for this strip of grass between the kerbside and side walk.
I scored one 1944 penny and three 2 cent coins...
Also a brass cap about 2 1/2" diameter, and a rubbish aluminum ring, ~ plus a few pulltabs...
I did this on a 40 minute hunt while my wife was getting her hair cut.

# I wasn't using my SE so I didn't post the results on the Explorer forum.

Catch ya "SILVER PIRATE.":detecting:
