4 days of finds

I just started digging everything, got a few pouches full of trash, but a few good things... some of this stuff will not hit in coin mode... so I opened up the screen and just dug every signal.. still nothing over 6 inches for me except a few big pieces of iron and some old jar lids... maybe if I keep digging I will get to the old stuff.. the coins pretty much all sound good.. no matter where they fall on the screen.. so thats a good thing.. pretty much out of targets at this place now, so will take the explorer over next time just to see what happens

Not bad! Lots of targets left there. Big ones too! Did you do this site previous with the Explorer? I have taken a liken to the opened up screen, ferrous 2 tones, manual sensitivity. This is pretty much how I hunt now. As far as depth, nothing over 6" maximum for me either? I think it's part minerals, part machine, possibly the 11" coil. All my last finds were with the 4x7 coil. HH

Its a new site, I hunted it a few times with the explorer.. funny thing is I got the older coins first hunts, you would think the modern stuff would have come first.. maybe because when I was over there the first times I was listening for deep good tones and ignoring alot of the shallower ones, I got a large cent, a half cent and a 1898 barber quarter with the explorer in 2 hunts, along with a batch of wheats and a couple silver rings... I did get one large cent with the etrac at 6 inches, and a flying eagle that was shallow.. I am sure I haven't been over every inch of ground yet, but did a pretty good job up close to the house and most of the yard.. So I will give her another go with the explorer if its not raining too hard tomorrow.. then I am off to another cellar hole on Sunday with the etrac.. If I find some stuff there, then the etrac will impress me.. At this place there is nothing but iron, so I should be able to switch to open screen and use two tone..

Good luck at the cellar hole. That's what I primarily like to hunt. This one park has been good to me, so I do it often, but cellar holes is where its at. I find the E trac hard to use at the cellar holes, probably psychological on my part. It takes some slow moving and a structured hunt to find the hidden things. At the park, the coins are plentiful, but at the cellar holes, coins are scarce. Good luck and post anything you find there. I'd be interested to see what you find. For me, it has only been low conductive targets, mostly buttons.
