Hello everyone,
I don't post much but do read everyone's posts and enjoy all. I finally ordered a new upper and lower shaft for the E so I could use my little 5" coil. I've had the Etrac now for around 6 months, Wow, what a machine! I have done all of my hunting with the 11" stock coil. Well, yesterday the UPS guy delivers my parts. I assemble the shafts with the 5" coil attached and off I went. I wanted to try somewhere that I have detected heavily. I detected this one spot that I have used every machine I have ever owned on, including the E. We, I thought something was wrong with the coil at first, I detected a good signal with a depth of around 7"s, I figured no way, not with a 5" coil. I was wrong. I found several coins and whatsits, at different depths. Deepest being around 9 to 10 inches, which was a brass buckle. I just could not believe I had missed all of this, and at the depths I was getting. I'm wondering now if I have a bad 11" stock coil. Anyone else run into something like this? Oh, One little other thing. A lot of the target I dug up had a nail mixed in, passing handful's of dirt by the coil and get a null, and find a nail. I made a mistake the first time I got a nail out of the hole, pulled out the nail and covered the hole, then recheck and the target was still there. I check the hole now before I cover it back up. LOL
Thanks All,
LR
