5 Hour hunt gave me lots of goodies today:super:

Hi Bryce ... I've been doing alright ... it's the Wife that's been having a hard time lately and we've been hitting the road real hard back & forth out of town to the MS clinic where they've been trying to get a handle on her meds ... after 3 years of being on certain meds for multiple sclerosis ... her body is suddenly rejecting the medication ... and it can become dangerous.
In between trying to run my motorcycle shop and all the out of town trips that usually consume a FULL DAY ... leaves no time for digging.
I have however MEMORIZED the territory pretty well from home and the MS clinic, with several potential sites in between :detecting:
Hopefully the doctors will get her meds situation under control soon and everything will get back to normal around here.
I never post much anyway, pretty much just relic hunt anymore ... cool old coins (when they show up) are just a bonus at a site for me.
Don't get me wrong here, I still LOVE digging silver & old copper ... but it's a bonus, CW period war items & older are my main love.
Anyway .. I see that YOU are still digging some nice goodies ... keep em coming :beers:

Good Hunting
Mike

Bryce,

I seem to have a difficult time getting all the dry dirt to fit back into a deep hole without leaving a "bulge" in the grass. I carry a travel bag over my shoulder with me. In the bag I keep my tools to help with the digging and filling the hole. What I have done to resolve the "bulge" problem is to carry a hammer and 1"x8" dowel with me. This allows me to tightly pack the dirt into the deep hole so that the plug will fit nicely when I am through. It is a lot of work, but it makes me feel better when I leave the area.

Another advantage is to carry a chisel along with the hammer. It is a snap to cut through moderately sized tree roots. But, I am sure that most would rather travel more lightly.

HH,
Glenn

a fine for fishing without a license, or out of season, or whatever..........and thats as it should be. But I never hear anyone talk of banning fishing or hunting etc. because of a few a-holes. Why! money is being made. We have a hobby thats no different than any other and if these laws keep being passed, its time we demand any activity that makes the slightest dimple on the grass be banned also. Maybe a youtube video of a park where you can't step on the grass or play any sports would show the stupidity of banning detectors, football baseball or soccer. That what the damn parks are for. I would love to see a $250 fine for leaving holes unfilled, and the money could be used to buy equipment for the park etc. Place signs stating that if you leave holes your subject to a fine and let-er rip.

sorry to hear that about your wife's meds. I'll keep you guys in my prayers and hopefully the MS clinic can figure out why her body is suddenly rejecting them. When you dig up some relics...get 'em on here so we can see them. I miss viewing and reading your posts.
Take care buddy...and good luck.
