I gang, I've not been out detecting much over the last 2 - 3 weeks due to working long hours, but I managed to get out today after work for 40 minutes.
I got myself an E-Trac last month (last week of), so I'm still learning what this detector can do that the others have not / can not do.
I've been out 5 times with the E-Trac over the last 2 weeks, in that time I've managed to collect over $35.00 in clad along with 3 silver rings.
I hit one of my old hunting grounds today, it's an area that I've hit hard over the last year with 3 different detectors. Today I tested out the E-Trac at this place to see what I missed at this site.
So, for the 40 mins I was there I found the following...
13 dimes
4 quarters
3 nickels
8 cents (these are not pictured)
and silver ring #3 (the ring is shown below, it's the last one on the right, the other two are from my other hunts with the E-Trac)
The ring was the last thing that I found, it was at that point I decided it was time to go, the light was fading fast and I was cold due to the wind that was bitter near the coast.
Looks like me and the E-Trac are going to get along fine next year based on the finds over the last 5 times I've managed to get out.
With any luck, winter will be nice and short here in New England..... I hate the snow, and the cold, and it makes my job hard too ( I drive for a living ).
I think my 2011 season has now come to an end here, but we will see what the weather does.
As for the season, it's been great !
Total finds tally ...... for 2011 ....
2 1945 P Silver War Nickels
