50 Degrees today so I got a quick 90 minute hunt in:clap:

What can I say? I was 99% sure Thanksgiving night was my last hunt of the year..but it hit 50 degrees here today ...and I had 90 minutes to play at my beat to death park. When I say beat to death...I mean beat to death...but this was the perfect hunt for me. I dug only 6 targets in the 90 minutes...but all 6 were keepers. I managed 4 wheaties....a 1903 injun..and a sweet but worn 1919D Merc. I just about filled my britches when I plucked out the Merc and saw the D mint mark because I would have sworn I saw 1916 for the date.:bouncy: I wasn't sure until I got home because I didn't have on my glasses...but was really let down when I put it under the loop and saw the last number was a 9. .:sick:No matter how hard I tried to twist...turn...angle toward the light...etc...it remained a 1919 . Oh well...thats the first 1919D I have ever found and a semi key date...so I'll take it.
Merry Christmas everyone and thanks for viewing my 90 minutes of pleasure.

Yea Bryce..way to go...Do you feel better now?

Nice finds Bryce! Good to see you pulled Silver on your short hunt. How hard was the ground? Hope you are able to get out more before the weather turns cold again. Good Luck and HH.

ya done good in that short warm weather hunt...and Merry Christmas to you and yours as well Bryce.

(Up here in Michigan we had a 'above freezing day'. It was foggy all day (we are 100 feet above lake level so the fog wasn't just in 'low lying areas'. Melted a lot of snow off the roof of the house and the ground. Its raining now and the driveway is now clear of snow. With the rain falling there might be hope to see the grass but...
we have a high winds advisory already and a warning from 10 AM to 5 PM and temps to drop (turning the rain and standing water to ice) and then expecting 1 to 3 inches of snow by tomorrow.

Guess there won't be any detecting here today or tomorrow or for awhile. Glad you got out Bryce and had some very good finds.

We got to go for a while and Bruce found a nice Barber half.I found a little silver too.Great job and hope to see more posts.:smoke:

right now. Heck...half of my oustside ornaments and stuff are about 4 blocks down the street.
Have a Merry Christmas brother.

much better. It couldn't have been better...and I'm never greedy. 6 signals...and 6 keepers is good enough for me.

n/t

the wind kept blowing, the rain stopped...could actually see patches of grass. Went to church and before church had gotten over the temps dropped...the rain that fell was now frozen making it hazardous to even walk to the cars...and the wind is still blowing hard here and it is snowing...so much for getting in a hunt. Never got warm enough - long enough even for a short hunt.

Have a Merry Christmas Bryce...hope Santa brings ya all ya wished for.

Bryce, that was a real worthwhile 1 1/2 hours !

Ya wouldn't wanna know how often I've been cranky ~ ~ ~ because I didn't get out for a morning or an afternoon !!!

You're an inspiration mate...
And I'm going to get off my butt now and again, and give a few short hunts a go too.

Way too much
