After figuring out that one large lead thing I'd found was the lead base to a CW-era Hotchkiss canister shot, I went back to the same location last night after work. Might have found another one or something similar -- will post more extensive photos in What Is -- in the process found my first gold ring with the SE. I've been wondering how they ring in on the SE and now I have a sample of one. It mostly read 09-07 and bounced around but didn't bounce far from it. Was about 5" down. Something about it reminded me of the way the only other gold ring I've found (since broken) rang in my my Sov when I thought it was a buffalo. Sure was nice to see that glint in the hole.
Didn't find any silver but found a 1913 or '18 wheat and that kids' plated locket. Also found that tiny lead thing which I can't figure out at all. It's almost like a tiny bullet with a extruded rim sticking out a little ways up. Not the best photo but anyone have any ideas?

The ring is 14K and has one stone. Diamond? (No that's not a special effect on the stone. I just rotated it to catch the sun when I took the pic.)
