Got out today with a buddy to a early CW campsite. Using the X-70 with the 10.5DD HF coil, I got the un-mistakable sound of a deep bullet. Dug a plug, 12" down I recovered a .69 cal minie. Rechecked the hole and the rest is history, 65 bullets out of 1 hole. The 3 ringers still had powder in the cavities. Got a few .69 round balls in the mix also. Gotta love the X-Terras!!!!!

You Cant have better day digging lot bullets. I Stafford Co V.A years ago in local Relic Hunter/ Shop Owner got permission hunt back yard and dug over 500 plus bullets . It was Supply staging area befor Battle Of Fredricksburg 1862

Sweet!!!!!!!!! .........Congratulations. I bet it was an amazing Rush to dig them...
Several years back my brother found 62 bullets with a 3' diameter area East of Knoxville, Tn...

So this is like a pouch spill?

The soldiers carried 40 rounds of .69 cal in a leather ammo pouch, if they got damp, they were useless so they just dump them out.
