6x8 , 10x12 sef coils/etrac question

Have found that my pro coil doesn't quite pick up some smaller gold items/earings and faintly hits the thinner gold rings, with no disc. I'm kinda into beach hunting mode now, and have had a 6x8sef on backorder for awhile now. Wondering if the 6x8sef allows the etrac to see these smaller/thinner pieces of gold/jewelry any better? How bout the 10x12, does it do any "better" on the smaller stuff compared to the 11" pro coil?

i have a Explorer SE, BUT i have the 10x12 SEF. yesterday i went to an old farm as i am a coin-shooter. i was digging small aluminium slaw half the size of your pinky nail at 4 and 5 inches. now i understand thats trash, but its small and rings in somewhat like gold. the 10x12 is a very sensitive to small items for its size. i have not used the pro coil. but i assure you the 10x12 will give the pro coil a run for its money with small items and in the trashy sites. good luck!

I would have your coil checked out as mine went on the fritz when I used it at the beach and I'm still waiting for it to come back from Minelab.
