7-inch or 10-inch coil for Excalibur-Beach/Surf Hunting

East Central Florida Beaches, I go WOT on dry and wet sand, WOT if chasing in and out at low tide line, Surf is brutal, so 10 in water is acceptable, 8 is better with less drag, and it appears that new yellow coil is thinner which would help drag even better. If I'm right about yellow and black coil being thinner, someone confirm please as I've not seen one up close
