7-inch or 10-inch coil for Excalibur-Beach/Surf Hunting

If you are in iron infested areas then stick with the small coil. I use a 12" SunRay coil on mine, it is great until I hit an area with a lot of iron, then it is almost worthless. Because of the slow response time of the Excal when a large coil passes over an iron target it nulls out and if there happens to be a good target close to the bad one, you will miss it.

Not if you hunt in AM/pinpoint

East Central Florida Beaches, I go WOT on dry and wet sand, WOT if chasing in and out at low tide line, Surf is brutal, so 10 in water is acceptable, 8 is better with less drag, and it appears that new yellow coil is thinner which would help drag even better. If I'm right about yellow and black coil being thinner, someone confirm please as I've not seen one up close
