8x6 SEF off Ebay

I just bought a new 8x6 from Ebay, actually coming from Kellyco, I had called Kellyco before and was told that they were on back order. I received an email from Kellyco after placing my order with Ebay stating that the coil was on back order. I called Kellyco and talked to George, George said that they were having trouble getting the coil. I told him that on Ebay they said they had 8 for sale. George told me to hang on, put me on hold, he came back saying that they did have the coil and it would ship tomorrow. I am getting it Friday via Fedex. This was strange to say the least to me. I assume that they had committed 10 for sale on Ebay and were holding them for that purpose. When I went to Kellyco checking price, there was a shipping charge but on Ebay shipping was free. I paid $149.95.

Something shady goin on at Kellyco. Called two weeks ago on a Monday asking where my 6"excelerator was, was told the manufacturer had shipped the on the previous Friday and would ship from kellyco when they got them. 2 weeks passed, so I called again. This time I'm told they haven't heard from the manufacturer and that they have 15 backordered and kellyco ordered 30 from detech.. So...?

I wish someone other than kellyco could get in with detech. I have been wanting to order either an 8x6 or an ultimate coil but with all of the horror stories about a 45+ day wait have kept me from pushing the buy button.... Oh well maybe someday
Anyone know of a reliable place to pickup detech equip other than buying used?

Kellyco is my LAST resort for equipment now...I would rather pay a little more to buy from a REPUTABLE dealer than to go through Kellyco.

HH,

thats the problem though. I dont think any other us retailer is a detech reseller.

EDIT: I noticed on detech's website they list another company in oregon as a reseller

http://www.detech-metaldetectors.com/dealers-usa-canada-mexico-south-america.html

I called that place spoke to a guy there (two minutes ago). He states they carry the detech detectors and kellyco in FL is the only reseller of their coils... kind of an odd deal if you ask me but eh...

I have read the stories of it taking weeks for Kellyco to get these Detech coils out. But my wife order me the Ultimate coil for my Christmas gift, about a week before Christmas, and got it three days later with normal shipping. I am all about supporting the "little guy" as much as you can. But Kellyco came through during a busy time, and I was happy with what Santa got me. This was the first time we have bought from Kellyco.

From my experience with kellyco that is common practice. I also save kellyco as a last resort for anything. I would much rather support small private dealers.

I think most us have been told that the SEF / Excelerator coils we ordered --- "will be in on the next shipment that's arriving in the next week or two".
I was told that the 10 x 12 SEF coil I ordered would be "in in two weeks" - I received the coil 9 weeks later !

Myself, I would just rather be told the truth - something like ... "Thanks for placing your order but to be honest with you - due to high demand - your coil won't be here for 8 to weeks".
This would make their company look better and save the customer's time by calling every two weeks !

Seems like Detech is having a hard time producing enough coils to fill the orders - after all, they do mfg. some great products !
I would think at this point Detech is probably buying some more machinery and hiring some additional people so they can start keeping up with the orders !

I just placed my order for an 8x6 after emailing them and verifying that they have them in stock and ready to ship. Andrea at Kellyco let me know they have them in stock and will ship so we will see. I placed my order immediately after she sent me that message.
