A Couple of Finds

Found these recently at an early settlement site here in Mississippi. I don't know what the first item is. Some kind of clasp. It is brass and measures 1" x 5/8". The button is a plain face Tombac which dates fom the late 1700s. I found it today. It was a measured 8" deep and is about the diameter of a dime. Weather has been unseasonably warm here. Very nice to get out in a short sleeve shirt this time of year.

I have no clue what the thing at the top is, but the flat button is nice.
