A early morning stroll with the Omega.

Well-known member
My better half hit the road early with a friend of hers to do the Sat. morning garage and estate sale thing, so I grabbed the Omega, of which, I had given the week off. Her down time must have done her some good as she sniffed me out 2 sterling rings and $4.94 in clad and cents. The small babies ring hit on 80 and was maybe 2" deep. The larger sterling band locked on 84 and was 3" deep right beside a magnolia tree root. I had on the 10" coil and that coil will flat out work in trash. I dug 2 coin targets that were co-located with a tab tail and a tab ring. 99 sen, 1 disc. d4 tones and gb of 64. HH jim tn

Jim nice going. Now exactly where did you find those silver rings?

I want to check behind you with one of my Tesoro detectors to see if you left anything behind worth finding. :)

 Check all you want, then you will know for sure what a vacuum the Omega really is. I have been watching to see if I am being followed, too. HH jim tn

That new place I was telling about that's in a bad area of town panned out pretty good. 132 coins - 36 quarters - 53 dimes - 20 nickels - 23 pennies - $15.53 and one 92.5 silver ring. I didn't even get shot at:).

That is darn good. Is it old enough to have silver coins? Watch out! I'll be following you. HH jim tn

I am really getting sick and tire of seeing what Jim has picked up along his afternoon stroll. Na, just kidding Jim. I have 4 crum snatchers and wish I could hunt just about every day instead of once in a blue moon.

Thanks for the pics,

Rob in Middle Tennessee

heh! heh! heh! wear "kevlar!" ya might need it!
just sayin'

Jim, as usual......great job:)

TabMan,
I love going to the cra**y parts of town to detect. Coins are really good. And when I get back to my humble abode (and it is humble).........I am truly grateful that I don't live in the areas I just returned from. And grateful for the woman I have in my life. See some really nasty types in those places.

Jim is one of the forums outstanding users of several model detectors. He knows his machines, knows where to use them, and spends the time required to get the "GOOD STUFF"..... Not to mention he is an outstanding person too!.........

Oh... A nice stroll wouldn't you agree !! LOL

it is fellow diggers like you that make these forums fun and interesting. As I think we all realize, it is not all about the finding. Although, that is one rewarding aspect of the hobby. I truly wish several of us could get together for a hunt. Anyway, whether you get to hunt only occasionally or almost daily like some of us, simply enjoy the time you get. HH jim tn

Why don't you. tabman, and JIm(TN) get together for some detecting.. Your all fairly close if I'm not wrong.. .. "bet you guys would have a good time".

Jim, you missed a few coins.:) It was really sweaty hot and I was dragging butt. 74 coins - 10 quarters - 23 dimes - 14 nickels - 27 pennies > $5.77

Seriously, we do need to meet up again. I'd like to swing your Omega with the 10 inch coil for about an hour or so. I'm thinking about trading my Gold Bug Pro for one.

I haven't made up my mind yet. I'm not sure if I'd be happier with the Omega if it's going to chatter my ear off. The Gold Bug Pro runs really smoooooth.
