Got out a little today with some unseasonably warm weather, no complaints whatsoever. Went to my folks place again were I have found coins 1920s and newer. Had given up finding only 2 wheats by the yard and was heading to the pickup wich was parked by the granary and thought I would swing on my way. Picked up a smooth tone the number was 12-33 wasn't sure what it was but didn't think it would be much. Dug a shallow plug and out pops this beautiful indian head. I couldn't believe it it was only 2 maybe 3 inches! I thought I better look around a bit so I worked my way around and got a high tone with pretty shallow again and out pops the barber dime. Unreal im gonna have to go back over that spot some more! Thanks for looking!

I love these late season finds - not every year that we get to hunt almost to Christmas - SWEET!

I agree with Doc, it's been unseasonably warm and I'm gonna take advantage of every one. Excellent finds Bentrac, the IH looks awesome.

Thx 4 post,
Moose

Great looking coins Ben !

I've had the same thing happen to me - I found a 1872 Indian cent that was only down 1/2 inch on a slope in the woods last month - the hillside was washed away from rain fall.
Found a 1818 Large Cent that was only down 3" along a section of old sidewalk last Summer. Lesson learned ... Old coins are usually deeper - but not all the time !
