Nice finds Mississippi! Is that a lantern adjustment knob on the left? What kind of coin did you find, hard to tell from the pix.
Ricstone...that is a piece from a spoon or fork I believe.

Thats what i thought Bunker but just not sure.
 
The coin is a LC not sure of the date, and yes that is a old oil lamp adjuster,the item at the bottom is a spoon or fork handle, it is made of very thin brass.
