A few more Explorer finds from yesterday and today

Couldn't resist hitting the "hunted out" parks again after some recent success. Last evening I
dug the 1916 and 1936 Mercury dimes and a difficult to find shield nickel(1867-no rays). The nickel was at least 8" deep but rang out loud and clear in the dry soil. This morning all I could manage was a 1908 Indian head and a 1964 Roosevelt dime. Not a bad week with 9 Indian head cents, 3 mercury dimes, 6 Buffalo nickels, 1 V-nickel, 1 Shield nickel, 1881 British large cent and a 14K wedding band.

Just love when a fellow detecterist approaches and let's you know "You'll find nothin in this Park".....It's been hunted to death for years(and probably has).....
I don't think they can imagine what an Explorer can doooo.......
Great finds and keep'em commin

I am hunting one of those and have been for abut 20 years now. I have not seen anyone using a detector in the park for over 10 years. It is amazing how quickly a park is considered to be hunted out. It took 6 moths to just scratch the surface of a "hunted out" park in Nebraska where I found my first and best 1916D dime. I would love to go back with the Explorer and see what is still in that old park. If any of you are around Platsmouth Nebraska it is the old two square park and I took several hundred coins out of there back in the early seventies. Since that was with a TR I must have missed hundreds that were too deep for the TR to hit. Also, found many hundreds in Hanscom Park in Omaha and my only gold coin, 2 1/2 dollar. The north end next to the street is full of clinkers but got some nice seated dimes from that area. There use to be a small body of water in the park and they had boats to rent to take your gal on a float. Makes me want to get in my Yukon and head north.

Hey Pulltabby, I hit another old school yard this morning that was supposedly hunted out also. First signal I dug turned out to be a 1917 mercury dime along with a 1943-P war nickel and 2 wheat cents in the same hole. A few minutes later I get a deep 1961 silver Roosevelt and then I got the dreaded low battery warning and within 10 seconds it was all over. Thought I had the extra set in the truck but no luck. I had to finish the morning using my DFX and found nothing but clad. Batteries are charging as I type this and I might just get back to that school this evening (if the wife lets me !!!).
