A local soldier lost his life in one of the current middle east wars and his family met him at the airport and he was taken to the funeral home.....my grandson and i went to show our respect from the side of the road....local residents and employees in the area also came to show their respects. The local PD had their motorcycle cops escort the hearse. The local National Guard has their building right on the corner and THEY came out and gave him their salute...when i first thought of going i assumed we were going to be the only ones there.......im glad there were others!

Thanks for sharing your experience. Beautiful pictures of a very sad event... Your community stepped up and showed tremendous respect for a fallen hero.:usaflag:

i know that feeling well.......all the people i saw at the airport had no clue if i was back from overseas (not tahiti) or back from mars......no hello , no kiss my rear end, nothing....
