A little glitter from the sled runs

I took the F75, with the NEL sharpshooter, and was running the FA processor and went to the park sled runs to pickup some easy money. I wasn't the first to hunt it, I noticed right off some fresh digs.

Coins I only found 3 quarters, 2 dimes, 2 nickels, and 9 pennies. But I did find a pretty nice 10K gold earring with I think 8 small diamonds. My wife said I needed to go back and find the other one.

I like it! That will be my choice of weapons some the thaw: F-75 & Sharpshooter. I just spotted a snow pile across a truck-stop parkinglot with some potential I never thought to check in the past. There's been a LOT of snow & gravel pushed pasts where 10-15 trucks a night sleep-over, then get coffee in the AM before heading out. May produce something(?)

Thats a tough little target!:clapping: Congratulations on some gold!:beers:

Yeah, Charlie, those snow piles at the side of an active parking lot are usually good...lots of trash, but good if you can pick through it..paper money even...
Mud.

Ron, good job and nice find on the gold ear ring. How does the Sharpshooter compare depth wise to the 61/2 and 5" coils on your 75? Have it and use it on my A T Pro and like it. Have you tried the 5x10" DD? Thanks! HH jim tn

Charlie, In fact, a quick check of your local Craigslist 'lost and found' will show you now a days theres a lot of gold rings lost in parking lots..when the snow piles start to melt, thats the time to really do a run! Smoke jump from lot to lot, especially schools, where the parents and teachers park and the snow is pushed, YMCA, Malls, Bars, Daycares on a sunday morning, Bingo Parlors, Wedding reception halls, Churches, or any fitness center...Anywhere a lot of gold wearing women travel..a fellow can do a quick run easy and hit 20 places of a morning....

Good thing is most asphalt lots have no iron underneath, so a guy can hunt the deep dust and gravel too...I have done real well on jewelry, clad and paper money in those snowpiles.. Think like a plowboy even in the summer, look for where you would push the snow, and go over there with your rig...the amount of trash will tell you if you are in it....

Lots of gold/silver jewelry lost in parking lots in the snow, easy eyefinds if you are Johnny on the Spot...

Jim,

The way I was hunting was looking for surface items left after the snow melt. But the NEL sharpshooter in the FA processor is at least hitting 1.5" more than the 6.5 or the 5" and I can't tell the depth difference from the 11".
Now I was running the coil about 3" off the ground and was still getting coins at 3" in the ground. The little ear ring was on top, with the sound of the detector I picked up the reflection of the sun light. I was hunting pretty much on sound and sight and wasn't looking at the ID numbers.

What would she say if you did find the other one and it was still attached to a pretty gal? :lmfao:

The earring probably locked in at around 18 or 22. I've found several like earrings and they lock on solid, typically at 22. i dig anything that has a solid low TID lock, the F75 loves gold.

HH,
Brian

I didn't check the ID number until I got home and it was coming in about 20. You know your numbers

That has to be one of the nicest looking earrings that I have ever seen recovered. Nice going!
