A little shiny from the pounded out Park

Stopped in Little Rock today and hunted the oldest park in town. It has been good to me in the past, but haven’t hunted it since 2013. It is super trashy, you get multiple targets every step or two. Had to go super slow, but managed to sniff out three Silver dimes and one Wheatie. Yes I was cherry picking. This Park has some pretty good history, was an Arsenal back in the 1840’s when there wasn’t much to Little Rock at all. General Douglas MacArthur was born in the Barracks here back in 1880. In 2012 I found a Cival War era Artillery button here, took it in to the museum to show the curator. She told me I should hunt the patch directly behind the museum, as that had been the parade grounds. I was living here at the time, and over the next couple of months, I strip-mined the parade ground area, that was only about the size of a basketball court. Found over 100 wheats, 22 Indians, and 16 Silvers, the oldest being Barbers. Also found 5 Civil War era buttons, three Union Eagles, one Artillery, and a Great Seal Button. Also found two old tokens, one of them dating back to a tavern that closed in 1905. Hunted the South side of the park today, was happy to scratch out a few silvers. Up to four for the year, only my third hunt of the year, hoping to find 50 this year. That is my modest goal. Keep Swinging!
