A little surprise in the snow...

My buddy and I hunted the tobagon hill at my local park tonight after work in 20 above weather for about 1.5 hrs, just looking for surface targets since the ground is frozen. I got a half dollar hit on the VDI and said "right", must be a can or something else. Sure enough, it was a '68 half under the snow that someone just lost while sledding. My buddy did even better though, he found dollar bill 2 minutes later. We ended up finding around $3 together. Its fun just to be able to detect and find clad even when the weather is nasty.

Nice find Aaron. Although I have to say you did do a little better then your friend's dollar bill - the silver alone in that half is worth $4.29 at today's $29 per ounce price

Ok..I admire the tenacity in getting out, but I'd have a flamethrower mounted to the detector.. I definitely understand the itch to get out. I need to make some more business trips to warmer climates. (the little detector fits nicely in a carry on) by the way..great find
