Have been eyeballing an abandoned house directly across the river from where I work for close to ten years now. Decided today to stop and hit the front yard, I didnt have any hopes of finding much as this place is on a busy road and figured it had to have been hunted before. Took the V with the stock coil. First signal was a wheat, then another and another. Guess I was wrong about being hunted. After a couple of hours I got 12 wheaties, 2 silver rosies and a silver war nickle. One of the wheats and the nickle were back to back in the hole. Also found quite a bit of trash, but not as much as one might think since it hasn't been used for so long. I tried the back yard and it was full of trash, nails I think, so I'll go back with the 5.75 and see what I can pull out of there.
A few of these wheats were iffy signals, which was surprising. Not exactly sure what made me want to dig, but glad I did. They also came out of the ground looking almost like brass so maybe there was something about the soil in that area that was causing the signal to be iffy.
Anyway, dig those iffy signals sometimes, and don't always think that someplace you pass by all the time has been hunted. Every once in a while you get a nice surprise.
HH and good luck!
