A question concerning search coils for the xterra elite/pro

I just have a question concerning smaller search coils for either the xterra elite or the pro. I was wondering if anyone here on the forum has either the elite or the pro, and if so have you by any chance used either the smaller v8' search coil for the xterra line, or the 6' equinox search coil, and if so what we're your thoughts or preference on these two coils. I bought the xterra elite Expedition pack which came with the v12' and the v8 ' search coils. My wife has the 6' coil on her equinox 600. I played around with the two coils and they are quite similar. The v8' may have hit an inch deeper on a gold band at 13' over the 6', which hit at 12'. I just wonder if the smaller 6' may be a little better searching in and around brush. The 6' coil is no slacker. Any thoughts?

My wife and I have had better success with the V8 on our Elites around cellar holes and old home sites than with the V12 here in Vermont.
I follow several FL beach detectorists and see they are using the smaller coils on their Minelab detectors now and doing very well with the smaller coils. Hope this helps.

I bought the Pro then very shortly after the Elite came out - I wish I would have waited for the Elite but it is what it is...
I also added the V8 and the EQX 06 coils.
I use the EQX 06 coil as I have mostly been a small coil user in trashy areas. Small coils are okay with me being I'm old and slow it's more my pace so larger coils get less use.
Also in tot lots small coils are my go-2. But the larger coils for the times I'm up to it for deeper and/or cleaner areas.
I wouldn't mine having a smaller sniper coil sometimes for the Pro - I have a couple sniper coils on a couple other detectors.

Personally, I tend to let conditions dictate coil size. I typically use the largest coil I can. If trash density is higher, or mineralization conditions are high enough to demand it, I'll reduce coil size until between the smaller size and slower sweep speed I can isolate each target tone.
