Got out for a couple hours this morning in between rain showers. Ended up with a couple old wheaties and this heart stopping find. Thought I had my first silver dollar.

Looks to be a nice replica of one of my favorite coins, the Continental dollar. Rub the dirt off and saw 1776 and almost had to change my shorts LOL!!!!

Sorry Bob. I bet you did nearly load the britches:detecting:
Still a cool find though.
I still remember that day in St. Louis when you found your first seated dime....and I found the other "sweetie" about 10 feet away...and about 5 minites apart. The look on your face was priceless.

Still something neat to add to the collection Bob. Nice find and hope the next Big Silver you find is a Silver Dollar. Good Luck and HH to you.:detecting:

Your story brought a flashback to me. Years ago when I was first metal detecting, a co-worker gave me permission to do his yard. He actually PLANTED one of those replica continental dollars near his house. He casually suggested that I detect that particular area first. I almost loaded my shorts when that BIG coin popped up!
He couldn't stop laughing at my reaction.
