New member
Hi Guys,

I haven't posted in a while although I still read the post and enjoy seeing what is being picked up, I had a pretty good morning so I thought I would share it with you.

I spent three hours in a park this morning where they held a rock concert last Saturday night, below is what I picked up in an area approximately 10 meters by 5 meters

3 silver bracelets
1 heavy silver neck chain
1 silver ring without a stone
1 silver pendant from Tiffany & Co New York
1 gold key
1 Spider broach
1 skull pendant
1 Nike pendant
1 Car key
1 Pornographic pendant
5 Tin Badges
and various junk jewelery
plus $116.80 in coins

So all up it was a pretty good morning and I still have a huge area of this venue to cover

G'day Boony, how's things ?

Boy, you had a fantastic morning !!!:detecting:

And you have unfinished business too !

...... Mmmm I thought so. Obviously, when the documentary on the Secret was made, that park must have been too secret. Sounds like you have got your own personal gold mine there Boony. Good luck with the rest of it and I hope you don't get too much competition there.
Mick Evans.

That gave me a great idea where I might hunt when this part of the world defrosts. Nice stuff although we dont have the bigger denomination coins like you do. I'll take jewelry any day.

Thanks Guys,

Just remember, if you hit the parks, check with your local authorities first, some places you can dig holes and some you can't. Here we can't dig holes in the lawns but all the stuff in the pic is just lying around on the surface.

G'day Snowy good to hear from you again I hope everything is going OK for you

All the best

Boony

Hey Bob, are you in NSW, and if so are you near the coast ???

Big seas there at the moment!

Huge waves, and I see BIG surf cuts on the news ~ tons of sand taken out...

Looks to be a good situation for beach detecting!!!

G'Day Snowy, Yes i live about 20 klms north of The Entrance, near Toukley. Its pretty hard to beat some of the other Detectorists to the finds though. The beaches have been washed out that many times in the last few years, and they get detected all the time, that its pretty hard to get anything. To make things worse, its been a very bad year for the beach this year, Its rained almost every day, and the temperature has not often been above 25 deg. I live 12klms from the nearest beach which is Soldiers beach. Mabe next year will be better. HH. Bob

WOW!! a great hunt for sure!! To dang cold for me so your finds gave me a quick fix fer now:clap:

Can't wait for

All I can say what a good day you had. looks like they took off their pants and shook out everything that was in the pockets.

Wow,it seems to be a pretty large gold mine there man...
but you better be fast...as you have so much place to cover and
there might be competition real soon...

Anyway, wish you best of luck...

Hi Guys,

Just an update to let you know how the Park is going, so far I have had four trips at three hours per trip (12 hours for those that can,t count) and the take in coins is up to $419.60 plus the usual jewelery, still got a bit to go, so I'm hoping for around $500 all up. I seem to have all the parks and recreation areas here all to myself which is good, nobody seems to be interested in metal detecting.
I said to a friend the other night, if you told someone that there is around $400 to $500 lying about on the field where they had the rock concert they would laugh at you.
Anyway it's been good so far and I have just had permission to search our local Race Course, the Cup was held there last week with around twenty thousand people attending so I'll give it a go on Thursday morning, I'll let you know how it turns out.

All the best,,,,,Boony
