I collect 5 railroads that ran in Arizona's past. This week I added a picture to one - the Tucson Cornelia & Gila Bend Rr line. I saw a slide on ebay and bought it for $4.25 - showing a RR car from the TC line. This line went out of business a long time ago so one cannot get these pics just anytime. For anyone who might not know - all the nails are date nails. The RR line put these in the wooden ties when they laid them. So the 37 is 1937, etc. The Rr used date nails from 1922 to 1970. Some nails on other lines go back to 1900. I got all these nails by walking the line plus looking in fence posts along the way.
The bottom middle paper item is an old original pass. the top center item is a ticket to ride. The top right pic is one of the locomotives they ran. The lock I found along the rail line and is stamped T.C. & G. B. RR. The key in the lock works and it was given to me by a friend - also stamped T.C. & G. B.

So when it arrived I went to WalMart and had the print made - cost 27 cents. So here's the end result for under 5 bucks. I would think the more authentic things one has in a collection the more it's valued. Steve in so az

God Bless! Betty
Sucks getting old.
Glad you do better than I have on the displays.....I just went after them and stored them away....like a squirrel with their nuts and etc.
Congrats on such great finds and dedication in
and having them out where you and others can see and enjoy....a way of remembering where, when and what has been found!
