After the storm

A good day in the mud but not a lot of stuff. I used the Platypus at the old school today. I went over the area the EQ 2 12" was used on. More finds came up. It was a little wetter than last time but these were between 6 and 8 inches deep. The EQ2 should have picked these up? All were covered in green as the one picture shows. I will be going back because I passed over I think 2 other Buffalo nickles. I had a good solid signal that was in the crown cap area and up pops a bison. All the wheats were heavy green. The one hole I had a mixed signal. Up came a wheat, I rescanned and on the second half of the signal was the bison. Once that was out another signal came up below the bison. And a 5 cent V nickle came out from 8 inches down. That signal did not appear until the Bison was out of the ground?. Paste the link to see the before pics. I have them soaking now. I also found a dog or cat tag. I am glad the rest wasn't attached as the other guy had found. The pic with the cat head was from the firs time their. Do to the wheeling and dealing with the owners. I gained access again until the end of the year and the neighbor has nothing he can say about it.

Well its up. Cant make much it out. The necklace is intact, I am glad the dog was not with the tag. And the two black rocks came up in the silver range, both decent signals but weak. The coins need to be cleaned yet. More to search and the rain tonight will keep it moist for a while.

Went back today and got my first Indian head 1907 and another bison nickle 1936 and 3 really green wheaties and one gold plated cuff link that came up from about 8 inches down. Once they get cleaned up I will post the good pics. More to do. I did find one spot where there must have been a blacksmith at one time in the area. His coals are scattered about 10 inches deep and ring up as silver. I gave up on that spot.

Good to hear that you pulled a few more nice older coins out of that spot of yours. Good Luck and HH and will be waiting for your post of the newer finds.

TRY USING YOUR LEARN PROGRAM TO ELIMINATE OR NOT DETECT THE COALS. IT MAY LEAVE JUST ENOUGH AREA TO PICK UP MOST SILVER COINS AND DROP YOUR GAIN ABIT.DON'T FORGET TO NOISE CANCEL AFTER ANY CHANGES IN YOUR MENU ITEMS.. JOHN

I have thought about doing that. They ride about one pixel below the silver area. I have found them from 1/4 inch in size up to 1.5 inches in size. Once I dig a couple more I will do the learn mode and block them out and see what happens. Its about a 20 foot circle were all these coals are about 8 inches deep. And that would have been the area the horse and buggies were parked. The one bison nickle I found is a 1913 plain, close but no mint mark to make it a key date.
To the learn mode I go,

Here is the 1936 and it looks like a 1913 bison nickle, the Indian and the Victory nickle. The rest are still green.bisons
more bison

there is two picture links in the highlighted blue script

The Buffalo Nickel is definitely a 1913. Nice finds and hope there is a few more yet to be found. Good Luck and HH.:detecting:
