All these testers

Funny how Fisher,Garrett, whites, and minelab got it right the first time before releasing anything to the public..F75, Mxt, At pro, and explorers never were updatable but then again those machines didn't leave the factory until they were perfect..All these testers wanting to change this or do that, do these companies have the worst R&D nowadays or are these testers trying to make a name for themselves at the sake of changing a good performing machine ?
It's almost sickening anymore, all the fluff, youtubers, even the forums are getting jammed with the nonsense.."And over here I have a Volkswagen hubcap at 6 feet surrounded by beer cans ,over there the Volkswagen is at 10 feet after I wrecked it drinking all those beer cans"...
I wouldn't be surprised if a new guy thinking about getting into the Hobby watched a few of these videos and thought oh hell no, it's like a soap opera

F75 never could handle the ground mineralization or EMI where I detect. MXT was more squared away but depth was 6” or less and target information was way off on low and mid conductor targets. 3” deep pull tabs would show up as quarters on the display here. AT Pro was a solid detector but had the same issues. Waterproofing was good. Saltwater beach use…..not so good.

These newer SMF VLFs are extremely versatile and can detect in environments that the three you mentioned have no hope of working well in by comparison. Any moderate to heavy iron or salt mineralization and those three are done. That versatility makes proper testing of these latest SMFs a real headache for the manufacturers since they are expected to work well just about anywhere which means they have to be tested all over the world before release.

Testers are a necessary part of the process. they put equipment through the mill to expose weaknesses. Just because you buy a machine doesn't make "tester". A good tester whether a manufacturer tester or independent requires an inquisitive thinking process. YouTube has undoubtedly added a twist on the process, mainly a revenue stream lol JMO

I Always thought the mxt was almost perfect on low to mid range targets, the deus was the one machine I had that rang pull tabs up as quarters.. The versatility in new machines is what should make it easier on the R&D guys seeming it's up to the user to set it up properly for their environment? I mean, what settings a guy uses in California isn't going to work in Pennsylvania, ground conditions are different all through the United States

Almost all the machines you listed were "updated" F75 limited,AT-ATPro,Explorer 2,MXTpro just buy an updated version, Free software updates are an improvement in my opinion.

I see what your saying, next generation type deal with those machines. I just meant they were good the way they were ,at least for me. I don't think performance changed among any of those you mentioned, just more bells and whistles added to each unit
