An unusual silver, for here

Found this in a heavily hunted park the other day. It's an Australian 1943 three pence with a Denver mint mark. Info i can find says it's sterling silver. Seems during the war some of their coins were minted in the states and shipped over. Sure would love to know it's story. It made it half way around the world twice to be lost in a small park tucked in a small neighborhood. It was nine inches down in the shade of some oaks by an old small pond. Found a few similar period wheaties within twenty yards.

Earlier in the day found a slightly damaged silver plated wax seal a few miles from there in another old park.

Not a bad day!

Man!:surprised: Those are both great and unusual finds! That coin could tell a story I bet...how many were made? Nice to see you are still out and finding!

They only minted 16,000,000. I suspect they're pretty common in Australia but not so common in central FL!

Still out swinging but life has been a bit complex lately, not on the forum as much as I'd like. Been on a bit of a detecting drought as well, needed a few good finds!

Wish I knew it's age but no markings to go by. The area has stuff back into the early 1900's though.

Neat finds. Thanks for the pictures.
