Andy's coin program make much of a difference?

I hunt coins with my etrac. I have been doing pretty well with the standard coin program in Massachusetts. Is this worth programming Andys onto my etrac? Am I likely missing much with the standard coin program vs Andy's? Any thoughts from those who use Andy's?

It's true. That little black bar in the upper right corner of the default coin program masks silver dollars.

I heard I could be missing silver dollars in that upper right area of the default program. And obviously a silver dollar is a great find that i would hate to miss. Why did minelab choose to disc out that area I wonder? Common types kind of junk chirps up in that area of disc maybe?

they're really not an American Company.

I hunt deep coins and get alot of FE shift on the deep ones (10"+), usually down towards the bottom of the screen. Andy' s pattern is open enough to allow for this FE shift, but has enough discrim to cover iron and iron faulsing so it run nice and quiet on Auto +3.

I have no dought that if I was using the standard coin pattern on my sites I would have missed a lot of these deep ones. I highly recommend it if you want coins at the edge of the etrac's depth range.

Cheers,
Greg

I know people say coin program will miss silver dollars, but why then in coin mode will mine scream when I run a silver dollar under my coil, giving me a signal 01-39......01-40

I notice there is a select Coins, and coins mode.
I have been running in coins mode,is select coins different?

I just looked at the emulator and yes the two are a lot different.

The coins mode, I believe, accepts all types of coins, not just US coins, so it is usually not what you would use in the US, at least not in an un-modified form. The coins pattern, on the other hand, looks to be better for US coins (with the exception of the top-right corner and too much Fe rejection). I have never found a good description or seen anything from Minelab describing how their patterns were constructed and the reasoning behind each.
