Another big one!:fisher:

My hunting buddy and I hooked up again this morning at the same old park he and I had hunted a couple of times last week and he and two other fellow club members earlier in the year. All of us have taken some silver coins from it along with some silver jewelry and a good number of wheats. This morning I was fortunate enough to get the 6 1/2" coil over a big silver....a 1939 Walker. It was a good sounding hit, but bouncy readings. Dug it, and recovered a high tone Memorial in the clod. Went back over the hole and got another good hit. Probed with the pin pointer and located two targets. The first one I nudged loose with the pin pointer and it was another Memorial. Off to the side a couple of inches found the other hit, moved a little dirt with the Pro and saw a small portion of a wide rim piece of silver. I knew it was a half and called my buddy over to watch over things while I went back to my vehicle for my camera. He couldn't stand not know what kind of half it was and moved a little more dirt before I got back. Digging some funky hits, I dug the gold looking chain. Hit the clasp, no doubt. Doesn't appear to be gold and can't see any markings on the clasp. Had a little emi chatter from some nearby power lines, but a frequency shift quieted it down and I was still able to run 85 sen and disc 4 and in boost mode on the LTD. HH jim tn

OK..you can quit now for the year! You ought to be ashamed of yourself...someday some kid will get a detector and go out hunting for an old silver coin, and will come home with nothing but clad all the time...Oh wait! that's me! Really good write up on the signals in that sort of spill situation...From the sounds of it, that little area has been a drop zone for quite a while. New coins masking old ones..?

Now those are fun to find. Way to go!

Well done, Jim!!!!

I'm amazed at the depth on that hole, and I was almost positive that was the top of one of the skyscraper in Beijing!

HH buddy!

Awesome recovery\
I've never found a walker,.......yet......

Nice work Jim, I do like a hole with multiple targets, items to make it more exciting

After and early morning oil change, my buddy and I did get out for a bit, but mighty muddy digging. Last twenty four hours we have over 4" of rainfall. Wheats was it of anything notable this morning, but between showers yesterday got in 45 minutes and a recent era park that does on occasion give up a silver and my first hit was a 64 Rosie from a honest 7" with the 6 1/2" concentric coil. If Fisher isn't going to give us a SE/LTD replacement soon I wish they would at least give us/me an elliptical 10" DD like they have for the Tek Omega. That is one great coil. I, like many of you all, am in the mood for a new toy and am getting pretty antsy. Go get a good one. HH jim tn

I'm in the mood for a new coil...a small one...what do you recommend for my F70?
I was watching that weather radar and figured you were getting slammed a bit..yet, you still got out, and that's pretty cool!:clapping:

Most of the heavy stuff came late afternoon and into the evening. And, we lucked through a barrage of tornado watches. The 5" DD, Mud, is a laser in trash. For heavy trash, that would be the one. If, though, you hunt more lighter trashy ground, then I would go with the elliptical concentric 6 1/2." It is not quite as laser like as the 5" DD, but is pretty good, gets a tad more coverage and likes bottle caps less. Personally, I do use the 5" more. Are you using the 11" DD, or the 10" concentric? HH jim tn

Excellent!:thumbup: I have to admit I'm feeling a bit......:jump::biggrin:

Mud.

I just picked up a 5" DD and loving it. You'll cover less ground but IMO it goes just as deep at the 11" DD. I've already nailed some deep coins with it. If the lesche knife is 7 1/2" blade, the 5" DD goes at least that deep.

Copper pennies jump from 60's-low 80's when they are deep, but everything else is confident and steady VDI.

You might not cover as much ground, but if you feel you have no local competition and can come back to the same spots your sniping of targets is unreal.

I'm not doing soccer fields or anything, but I can say I haven't wanted to use the 11" since I got this. Just slow swing and overlap more. More swings per square foot coverage, but also weighs less so less arm fatigue.

:clapping: ITs been 2 years since I pulled one of those out of the ground. Sweet finds .... again.
