My hunting buddy and I hooked up again this morning at the same old park he and I had hunted a couple of times last week and he and two other fellow club members earlier in the year. All of us have taken some silver coins from it along with some silver jewelry and a good number of wheats. This morning I was fortunate enough to get the 6 1/2" coil over a big silver....a 1939 Walker. It was a good sounding hit, but bouncy readings. Dug it, and recovered a high tone Memorial in the clod. Went back over the hole and got another good hit. Probed with the pin pointer and located two targets. The first one I nudged loose with the pin pointer and it was another Memorial. Off to the side a couple of inches found the other hit, moved a little dirt with the Pro and saw a small portion of a wide rim piece of silver. I knew it was a half and called my buddy over to watch over things while I went back to my vehicle for my camera. He couldn't stand not know what kind of half it was and moved a little more dirt before I got back. Digging some funky hits, I dug the gold looking chain. Hit the clasp, no doubt. Doesn't appear to be gold and can't see any markings on the clasp. Had a little emi chatter from some nearby power lines, but a frequency shift quieted it down and I was still able to run 85 sen and disc 4 and in boost mode on the LTD. HH jim tn
Really good write up on the signals in that sort of spill situation...From the sounds of it, that little area has been a drop zone for quite a while. New coins masking old ones..?
