this scene. I like the nor-easter storms as the snow gets plastered on everything. Looks nice for a while. I grabbed these 2 shots to show you off my back porch. As you can see the hemlocks are loaded up pretty good. Well, my snow plow beckons me.

i found that a thin clear plastic hood extension of about 4 inches taped over the LNB works good.

Was more but we sold quite a bit of it off. Nice spot for CT if your into woods. This called the quite corner. Mostly old farms, not much for industry so most of the people drive about 1 hour for decent paying jobs. We are 2 hours out of Boston and a little less to NY City. Being and hour inland its not to crowded here as most want to be near the better paying jobs. I grew up on the coastline in Groton, CT. We had purchased this for a vacation home and hunting way back when. After coming here so often we decided to make it our only home and sold out on the coastline. Not sorry we did it, but I miss the ocean at times also. But and 1 hour drive puts me there.

More snow here for sure. My wife rode horses almost all winter down there out doors. Not the case here.

ice sure does as does really wet heavy snow. To reflective I guess. Ours is Dishnetwork. Before this I had the Direct TV one. Dish is cheaper but their satelite birds are real low, so summer tree's with leaves give me a problem if they are wet. Direct TV birds are higher up and less problems. As you can see, I C clamp it to the hand rail and move it in the summer for better reception. With any luck I will drop the big oaks that are in the way. More wood for the stove....

One of the higher cost of living states in the lower 48. I have a buddy out your way who lives in Port Roberts and he has a home in Vancover also. He says the same, bring $$$$$$. His brother has a place in Whistler, who comes here about every 2 months as he has a home here also and keeps saying it getting like CT for cost of living. Everything has a price on it. The down side here, is recreation, has a lot of hidden use fee's. Take quads, dirt bikes, all kinds of taxes, but few places to ride them unless your in a club or own land. Horses the same, the organize the horse groups to gain access to the old abandoned rail line trails, but once they have them, a group or organized serria club folks force you off them. Well, the horses leave, foot prints and droppings, the mountain bikes go to fast, the same quads that groom them now ruined them. Its like wehave all these state parks up where I am, but little access except for walking. Look but don't touch. We purchased the land for family use and its served us well over the years. But as the priceof land went up, thats great but the taxes here are rough, and you become land poor. A lot of folks sell off to home developers strickly because they can't afford to keep it any longer. The state has decided they are loosing to much woodland or farm land so are now offering to buy it from you, with life long use of it, but it remains farm land for ever. We are looking at that one....

I have never actually seen snow like this other than in the movies, on TV, or the Internet...beautiful to look at, but I suspect that the fun will go out the door when the driveway needs to be cleared. Kelley (Texas)

was only a couple of inches each time. It was our second decent snow. The first good one was 16 inches, and this one was 8 inches one day, 4 the next, and 3 the next. I just wait until it's done. We all have 4x4 trucks also so we just drive on it. I only keep it open for the UPS, guys, perhaps a fire truck or ambulance if needed. I actually like it all snowed in. Makes it seem like we are isolated in the wilderness. No homes around us we can see or anything even off the hill. They are closing in on us thought. Folks are selling off the land to builders. Usually its the kids who sell it off as they don't like it out in the country or have moved elsewhere and just don't want to be bothered taking care of it all. Acreage goes high up this way for building homes. Next storm I will make a movie clip as I plow it and will post it here. Only a 1/2 mile driveway, but as the edges get higher and higher and freeze solid its more like a bob sled run.
