Another silver variety!

Silver coins continue to elude me, but did get 1 nice sterling spoon from the Bailey Banks & Biddle collection this morning with the F 75 LTD. Also got another bracelet that Hank lost that is marked stainless steel sterling top plaque by the Champion Co. Older coins were 2 wheat cents, 1934 and 44d. One of the pictures is a shot of the woods in general and two are of the spoon and bracelet fresh from the ground. Still running with the 11" coil in B P mode, sen at 90, disc 0, 4h tones and g b of 64. HH jim tn

Nice pics, nice finds.......I see why you don't go into the areas pictured in the summer time.. I would imagine snakes are all over the area... plus ticks etc...

That little shot, Elton, is of some of the easier terrain to move through and hunt. There literally are patches of thorny vines and thick branches and undergrowth that one can't get a coil into. That is probably where any of the remaining silver coins lay harbored. LOL Thanks, it was a beautiful day to be out hunting. Tic's I know first hand are bad during the spring, summer and early fall. I have never seen a snake in these woods. HH jim tn

Jim, looks like the woods I was in this past Sunday. I also found a spoon (not near as nice as yours) and a 40's wheat, no bracelet though.

Man I had a thorn branch get a hold of my left hand, through the glove into the meat of my thumb, stopped me in my tracks. Had to lean the detector on me and slowly pull it off with the other hand...still sore today.

It was one of those nice little clearings, but to get to it you have to go through the dreaded thorn bush that has its arms across the trail whispering "come through here, if you dare".

I don't know how the deer do it as I see deer trails going under all these thorn branches. Some of those thorns are over a half inch long. I figured my coat and jeans would take the brunt of it, and they usually do.

You are really turning up the silver, of all sorts. Spoon is very pretty. Would have to research, but may be worth much more as a collectible than what the silver value is.
Hope you pull more silver out of the woods.
Cheers,
tvr

Great going Jim. Some really nice finds you got there. I'm still working the barn area.:)

I found this today and a very old hand sickle to go along with the rest of stuff that I found the day before yesterday at the barn site.

I was kidding about the stable, but it does look like you found the barnyard. HH jim tn

There had to be an old home site there, pre-1900. I'm finding real old nails.

Nice finds jim:thumbup:

I am setting on 139 and have been since 12/8. Today was a near bust all the way around. 2 nickels, 1 dime, 4 Memorial cents, 1 32 caliber brass hull and 1 shot gun brass. It isn't over until 12/31, though, so we'll see if Santa can guide me to some silver between now and then. Thanks everyone and a large Merry Christmas to you all. HH jim tn

I think 147 on the silver coins was my prognostication. I'm just a... naturally psychopathic...ummmm.....I mean psychic. Fantastic finds. And a big ol' Merry Christmas to you & family.
