Andy Sabisch said:The V4.0 update offers a number of features / enhancements that will work with both the current three coils as well as the new elliptical coil. You do NOT have to buy the elliptical coil to be able to use most of the V4.0 0features but if you have a need for what the coil offers, you will need it to unlock all of the 4V4.0 functions.
Depending on the type of hunting you do, the new coil might not be a required upgrade path.
Rumors seem to take on a life of their own and the multi-frequency / updates required for coils vs. the detector / prices / what is in V4.0 are examples of that . . . . both will be released when the field trials confirm they work as desired by Alain and his team. He is not willing to release soemthign on a set date and find out it is not ready. There are other items in the works that will further compliment and expand the Deus going forward.

It sucks getting old!!
I like your larger screen option, I'm in!
When you say the Deus works well at the beach, do you mean in the dry sand or wet sand or both? And if in the wet, will you list your settings?CO_T\Huntr said:Hate to say it Nuke_em but you're all wet...
At a Bootcamp we were given insight into some of the new features in
this upgrade... not expecting simultaneous "multi-freq" for sure but
will be getting new higher freqs for the newly designed coil...
and a bunch of improvements for the old coils and settings for sure
I've been using the Deus for a couple weeks now on the beach here in Panama City
and am finding the machine works quite well, don't have any issues to
report so far but I will be putting it through the paces over the next few weeks
now that spring break is in full swing...
But we'll see soon enough
