Hey guys! I am curious if any of you have ever used your Etrac at the beach and if so, how does it do? Be sure to tell whether you went into the wetsand or not. Thanks for reading. -Dig

I used my E-trac on the beaches of Florida and it did pretty well. I often went when the tide was out and in the wet sand it did really well. OF course you do have to be careful of the occasional wave that kicks up seeing how the E-trac is not waterproof. I came within a second of having a dead E-trac when a wave out of no where came up on me while I was digging. I pulled a gold and diamond ring at 14 inches and a gold bracelet at almost 18 inches with the E-trac my last time on the beach. Dry sand the E-trac is fantastic.

Overall the E-trac is an awesome beach machine. But I have come to the conclusion that a pulse machine is the way to go on the beach, I like the depth of the E-trac, don't get me wrong, but the TDI is much deeper in any sand, wet or dry. I have the TDI wrapped in a plastic box to make it waterproof so I don't have to worry about it getting wet. My trip out to California showed me that the black sands on some of the beaches makes the E-trac less effective where the TDI works just fine.

If you plan on using the E-trac in the sand, don't forget to use some kind of cover on the screen. Otherwise you will have a very scratched up screen to replace sooner or later.
