Anyone else notice the ID #s go up on the very deep coins???

I have found that in my soil a silver dime over 8" will read 97,98 most of the time in any frequency.Deep square nails hit the same in the 3 highest frequency but only hit/sound good one way and good targets sound good most directions.

I have also come to the conclusion that the Deus is the best relic machine in my SW MO soil by far.Dug a burned half dime in solid nails that was truly amazing along with many relics/bullets and tiny buttons in that same carpet of square nails.

Will post some pics of the stuff I have recovered with the Deus as soon as I get a bit more free time, like say a rainy day when I wont be detecting or working.

Also was able to cross check several older deep coin signals with Dr.Bob and his E-Trac with13" coil and in every case the Deus hit just as solid as the E-Trac.One target was a on edge Barber dime and the 9" coil hit it as well as Bobs 13" coil.

Almost forgot to add WOW the Deus sure is LIGHT !!

Up-averaging of ID numbers due to depth happens frequently with many detectors. Nature of the beast. If I remember correctly the signal of the coin gets overridden by the signal of the soils minerals. Thus adding to the ID number. Here is a article by the great George Payne, who invented VLF motion discrimination. Warning...its technical:)

"There is a tendency for some objects to read upscale on a target ID detector in mineralized ground. There are a number of reasons why this can happen. I would like to explain one in particular that I am familiar with.

There are any number of methods for a designer to compute a Target ID reading. All are based upon determining the relationship between a target
