Anyone got any new year goals for 2013?

I know I have one. I'd like to detect more in 2013 than I did in 2012.

I would really enjoy finding a coin or artifacts from the 1700's

I would love to hunt more but with a high maintenance wife and 4 snotty nosed brats, I am trying to do everything but sell pop corn.

All kidding aside, I am really going to try to make time to get out and hunt more!

I want,,, need,,, just have to ,,, find that elusive gold coin with that Indian head with feathers on it from say 1885, 2 1/2 dollar is fine, does not have to be a honking $50 dollar coin. I have been chasing it for 20 years now, I feel it is very close!

Yeah...A gold coin, like a Brasher or something...something really valuable like a 10 thousand dollar ring or so...or maybe a 1959 wheat penny...something really big money..it might be a meteorite, or a mason jar of gold coins, something I can walk into the house with and say to the wife, "Pack yer bags, were taking a trip!"..

To, finally, be able to afford my own detector would be nice. Heck, even better, several. Ooh, a new sluice box and to get my old truck up and running again...

I would like to avoid bashing my head on tot lot metal for the entire year.

awesome reply. we must be kin some were down the line :clapping:

I have been doing more research for old sites to hunt in my area so i dont hunt so many parks and tot lots. Also i want to quit being shy and do some door knockin and sidewalk strip hunting. HH Ed in co.

I think my youngest son is going to skip soccer this year soooo that will leave more time for detecting an gold prospecting. My young one Colin is quite a rock hound and we should have fun. Just to let you all know the gold in VA is to fine for the most part to MD so it is all panning and highbanking.

Take care and happy new year
Bob

I am looking forward to making some great recoveries with my new Fisher ???. The rumors have soared for a while and I am ready to see what Fisher has coming. Most of us would be thrilled to go with "more hunting time than last year". Hope everyone has a great year.

By gosh I bashed my noggin again this weekend! Hunting in an icestorm under a totlot structure! I had to pack my hat full of snow to get the swelling to go down enough to fit my head back into my truck! I need a coil on top of my head that will warn me of such things! I'm getting a good amount of scar tissue built up there, so the next time the wife hits me with a rolling pin, it wont hurt so much!

Im wondering if you are ratcheting your goals up or down from last year?:wiggle:

More silver and gold

Mine is but a simple goal!---To find 500 silvers in 2013.----This of course will be accomplished with the existing detectors I already have!!-----Nothing like a positive attitude, huh? :)------Wait, wait, I got mixed up --that's my DREAM!------My GOAL is to be able to be standing & swinging a detector at the end of the year, the same as I am at the start of it. ;)--------In all seriousness, I think the 2013 year (and forward) goal for all of us is/should be to have fun out there--and--leave the land as good as, or better than it was when we got there.----------Del

Good goals Del, and I'm with you on them. I was able to hunt a lot this past year and would be pleased with the same amount of time and fun in 2013. HH jim tn
