Anyone having this issue?

The past couple of hunts after an hour or so I happen to look down at the screen and notice that the depth indicator coil icon and the sensitivity numbers are nothing more than a black box. I turn the detector off then on and it fixes it. also once in a while I get a scratchy sound that lasts a second or so. Anyone else experience this?

Ive had the scratchy sound before ...Its the headphone jack from my headset moving around in the plug i figured .Ive never heard of the black boxxes..Sounds like a software glitch.Sorry to say, send it back asap.Good Luck!

No, I have not heard of this before. I would send it back while its still under warranty. that's a bummer, sorry:rage:

Two years and never seen that before.

It's affecting the display and occasionally the audio. If it is one problem, then it is likely a short that could affect multiple subsystems. If it is more than one problem, then the audio jack was a good suggestion and the dispaly issue could be an intermittent short, a faulty display screen or some corrupted long or short term memory locations. I would send it in. They may just replace the board and/or display and you'll never know what the root cause was/is. Let us know what you find out and good luck.
