Anyone here experimenting with coils?

Hello,
I've been researching coils with the idea of making my own. I have measured the electronic parms that will mater to the detector. (inductance, resistance, and capacitance). Most have faraday shields of various types and the ones that are sensitive to small items have a tickler. Most of the US patents have been built at some point. Some of the European patents have not. I do notice everyone is pushing the DD coils. They are easier to manufacture and they do work well. There are still lots of other possibilities.

Yep, all ya would ever want to know about the inards & spec of the coil.:nerd:

A guy that goes by Nevada Bob in CA. Has done some stuff with coils. Not sure how to get a hold of him though.

I was just wondering. A guy in my club said that winding and working on coils was a dying art. There is still a lot of experimenting to do. Lots of interesting things can be found out.
