Anyone try the Whites super 12 coil

Looking to see how the super 12 coil would perform on the V3i

I just got 1 about 3 weeks ago and have not had the time to "Really" get out with it. Just playing around with it in the yard here in South Alabama seems to do fine.
I purchased it to use on the beach but if all goes well this comming weekend I'll give her a whirl.
I will say that I'm glad I have a swingie thingie cause after about an hour I'm sure I'll need it.

I have the 10x12 SEF coil, that I use the 12 inch super program for on the V3i. So far it is working very well for me....it's a deep booger....but no fun in trash.

The 12" is a good coil but the D2 is just as deep for me because it is a DD and better handles the dirt here in Illinois. For me the DD's work better than the concentric coils.

If I ever find a used 10x12 SEF I'm going to give it a try. Larry does well with one.

My ground is like Rob's and the DD/SEF works best for me, but if you have less mineralized ground like a beach, I heard it works great.

Thanks for the info

My soil is moderate. The Super12 just does not have the penetration that the D2 does. If your looking to go deeper try a 15x12" SEF (Butterfly) coil. They work well on the V3 in my experience.

If you are in an area with low to moderate mineralization where trash separation is not an issue, the Super 12 can be an asset. Keep in mind it is also a bit more susceptible to EMI.

But it is a heavy one to be swinging for a long time. My default coil is the SEF 12"x10".

It has always been my experience that the concentric coils are quieter regarding magnetic interference from power lines .

i just got the super 12 a few backs and just got out in the snow.. i hit a older ball field at the bottom of a dike that i have hammered before with the 10 dd and 6x10 . its right by a power line. i,ve found 8 wheaties and finally a 34 mercury dime. i dont seem to have much trouble with the high tension , but im assuming its because its not dd.. im not sure if the coil is the reason or not but i found them where ive covered before. so far other they getting used to the weight im happy with the coil. or it could be im just starting to learn the v3i a little better. im really hoping its the coil in my ground because then maybe i can rehit the places other guys with lesser machine have been and score . ill let ya know after i go over somemore hard pounded areas.
