are the new sunray gold headphones very good ?:detecting:

I like both pair that I have.I allso have a pair of garrett headphones that work well.Don't know much about the others as these work well for me. Grumpy

The Sunray Pro Golds are excellent headphones and well worth buying.-----They are comfortable, durable & have excellent tonal quality, especially when used on the Explorers or Etracs.-----The Pro Golds work well on other detectors as well but are just exceptional on the Minelabs (IMO).-------Del

Solid construction, comfortable, sound great on the E-Trac and I have no complaints! Only issue I ever have is the side mounted toggle switches get flipped when hunting around tree branches. Worth the money. I prefer the fit and comfort over the Grey Ghosts.

Money well spent..........

I tried on both the Grey Ghosts and the SunRays when I bought my Etrac. I liked the SunRays the best. They were more comfortable for me. The Grey Ghosts fit a little tight on the ears. Also the SunRays ear muffs and headband are made of real leather compared to the vinyl on the Grey Ghosts. I would imagine that the leather will hold up much longer from sweat and weather if taken care of. They sound absolutely great.

As BeachBumm stated the side switches do get flipped occasionally but that is not a major problem. The volume controls are tight with noticeable clicks for each level.

ESPECIALLY if you will be hunting ANYWHERE near Illinois:cool:

I would prefer you use a different set...that way you might miss a deepie or two that just didn't say "dig me" like they scream out when using the pro golds:)

Just my two cents...but I won't use anything BUT the pro golds. IMHO no other headphones give the unique high pitch "warble" over deep silver and injuns' like they do. If you are lucky enough to get the coil over a deep coin...the sound given off by the pro golds will stop you in your tracks:thumbup:

I used the Sunray's for years up until I discovered the Airheadz wireless system. I still have the Sunray's as a back up and will never give them up. They are comfortable, fit well and you can hear the deep stuff.

Rick, how does the Airheadz wireless system work please??

Also Sunray Pro Golds are made by Killer B.

Hi David

The Airheadz are an AWESOME wireless system. There is a transmitter and reciever one being attached to the detector and the other to the headphones. I honestly thought there would be a huge delay like with other systems I have tried and I couldnt notice one. They knock out most of the ambiant noises and akkows you to be able to hear the faint signals. They have a volume control on the headphones as well as the reciever.......Kinda acts lick a signal enhancer but suppose to be one (dont tell them that LOL). You can even get the modular cord so you can use them as a corded version if the battery dies or you forget to charge them (been there done that LOL)

Here is the website http://airheadzwireless.com/products.htm
