ARE YOU A ROAD HAZARD?

that spot is definitely in my pocket :) I drive by there all the time, I cant believe I never saw it. I didnt see it on any old maps or pictures either. right now im detector-less because I sent my detector to Minelab to check out an issue and give it a once-over before my 1 year warranty expires. I get a kick out of finding potential spots, even if they dont pan out. I try to think outside the box and sometimes it really pays off. Sometimes just putting the leg work in and swinging reveals good area with absolutely no visible signs of any rhyme or reason as to why coins would be there. My best old coin spot gave me 4 large cents last year, and a bunch of metal items such as buttons and buckles, but there was nothing left there that would visually make you say "check this area". But you have to be observant. I like it when my wife drives, then I can really LOOK:shocked: I like researching old pictures too and using google earth. just last weekend i found an old house that appeared to be torn down, i went to the site to check things out, and the house was still there! one tenant said the house was long abandoned. (yay!) the property owner wasnt there at the time but i plan to go back someday to see if i can score permission. ive found asking permission is getting easier the more i do it.

I am definitely a road hazard, but in a different way. Any time I'm within viewing distance of a road, people stop to ask if I'm ok. I'm in a wheelchair, and I spend a lot of time leaning over the side detecting and digging. I've jokingly told my wife I need to get a big sandwich board that says "No assistance needed, move along!" and stand it up near where I'm detecting.
