would any of you guys like to see audioboost as an feature/option on any future detectors?
please check out my post on american relic hunters forum and reply.
here is part of the thread going on over there...

thank you for expressing interest in this!!

" Generally, older targets are deeper. Why would I want to risk missing these older deeper targets? Some say, they want to use audio to distinguish between shallow and deeper targets, that's fine, but the depth gauge can do that"...

exactly my thinking! i personally do not want to have to strain to listen for the good(deep) targets. i want the target to jump out and say, "you better dig me" the thought of having all signals report at an equal audio level(as an option?) and utilizing the depth meter to determine depth seems completely logical!

how about this, the detector would give a loud audio report on deep targets, weaker report on mid depth and weakest report on the shallowest target?

or maybe a detectorist could select "old coins" or "jewelry" and only that target would give an obviously louder report. you would still here all other targets but your selected target would be obviously marked amidst all the unwanted/unselected targets.

well, I'm kinda thinking/writing out loud so forgive me if i did not make sense.
i guess my dream detector would be an f75 with an audio boost feature. or audio features as i have described.
chuck.

Almost the same, a 6x Doc's treasure Amp, adjustable. On the excal for the average hunter, you adjust the threshold to just audible and stable while hunting in AM, and listen for the faintest change in threshold for the deep targets. But if you notice in the Illustration there are targets that go unheard between the Just Audible & No Threshold area by the normal hunter, these targets are the ones that the PI hunters get and you miss. But with a Audio Amp you are able to pull these targets from this unstable threshold area, and only by clearing away sand from the target area are you able to pick them up in the discriminate mode. Only 2 problems with the unit, it's not waterproof but silconing the eletronics inside the box helps, And you have to adjust the volume on the excal to half to keep the shallow targets from blowing your ears off. This combo works the best for me in the lowtide to high tide wet sands, where the little 800 excal can hit targets in AM of 17 inchs plus, and the 1000 hits coins as deep as 20 plus in AM.............Credit this to CJC's books on the excal where he is very brief on the subject....Joe

thanks, that might be an option for my f75? where can i find info on one/ buy one?

I WILL HAVE TO TRY THIS IN MY OLD COIN HUNTING.:beers::twodetecting:

ditto on some good info....

Hi Folks; I woud ove to see an adio booast for land detectors. Why cant these manufacturers like Whites, Fisher or Garret realize that some of us, hint hint, are not as young as we to be and our hearing isn't what it should be. If you cant hear the signal to tell if its trash or treasure you miss a lot of stuff especially when trying to separate the adio signals separating the iron objects from coins and stuff thats mixed in.I say wthey should make it a standard feature on any detector, land or water, and let the operator determine for themselves if they want to turn the volume up or down but at least give the detector the real cajones to blast it if need be. What do you guys think. I'm tired of missing signals and finds because I couldn't hear them especialliy in high noise ares or conditions such as high winds. This is a great subject long overdue to be discussed here.I know I'm definitely looking forward to more on this. Later; PEACE:RONB
