started out early today left home at 6am started detecting at 6:30 & was finished by 3pm.
had lots of sand movement on the beach & there were signals everywhere found 246 coins which is awesome the highlights today were 33 pre-decimal coins 21 were silver ( found one more sixpence in the pile after i took the pic ) 4 florins 4 shillings 9 sixpences & 4 threepence's i"m sure i"ll find some more wile sorting the rest of the coins out one of the florins was a 1954 commemorative one which i didn't have in my collection. also found a hart breaker a big 18k ring with no stone ( i just about cry ed when i saw it ) i might get a stone cut for this one some day as i think it"s to good for scrap a nice topaz would look nice.
this was one of the best coin days i"v had out in the water but the waves were way to big & knocking me about a bit i would have got more if it was calmer by the time i started walking to the car i was almost falling over ya really don't realize how tired you are when hunting in the water until ya get out .
hope the pics turn out.
well that's all the yakking from me see ya

I feel your pain:rage: missin stone, But that ring got some nice wt. to it! All a all good hunt indeed congrats!

Lazyaussie, it sure doesn't seem like you lived up to your name today. Nice finds. That's a lot of coins and a real nice ring. Too bad the stone was gone. Just one question for us folks here in the Northern Hemisphere. What does "33 pre-decimal" mean?

sorry Mat pre decimals are Aussie coins that were minted before 1966 ( Penny's & shillings ) it"s the old pom standard after 66 we changed to the decimal standard ( 1c-2c-5c-10c-20c-50c-$1-$2 coins ) like you guys .

Fantastic haul, LA. Too bad about the ring....you'll have to dream about what sort of stone used to be in it. Great number of coins, and the '54 Florin is a bonus... well done!!!

You gotta love it when a good plan comes together.
Bonza on the pre-decimals too, love getting those oldies.
Good on the gold also.
HH and cheers

I know the Pain of a Missing Stone and the Battle with the swells
Did some time with Hurricane Bill about 35 hours on the beach, and in the water...it's going to take a couple days to recover..very sore, and a groin pull
Could not do this for a living....I can't touch that coin count, Best day total of 167..but 3lbs of clad when the battle was over..Nothing Old like yours. Wish i could get some of those old silvers over here.....I would say you had a Excellent Hunt...Obn
