Hi All, Two months ago I posted a message that I was off to Alaska with:detecting: and fishing rod in hand. The fishing was great if you like to catch big halibut, which I do! The detecting was not as good. Don't travel with a group on a schedual as there were all these great looking sites that we just drove right past. My oldest coin was a '47s lincoln and a '52 King George found in BC. 200+ coins found in ten minute snatches once or twice a day is not the way to do it! Live and learn, but there are sites I would go back to. Dawson city has old wooden raised sidewalks with big gaps between the boards. I saw a woman drop her coin purse and lose most of it while I was shoping with the group. Metal Detectors = prospecting up there not coin shooting, I asked everywhere and never got a "no". HH Terry
