Back in Business

Greetings from OZ.
I've been in the doldrums for some months now, mainly due to lack of detecting sites in my area. Lots of detectorists, beaches sanded in , etc.,etc.
It has been said that one in four caravanners have a detector on board these days......we have about 9 Caravan Parks here, so... work it out.
That, of course, is on top of all the locals, like me, who (used to) go hunt on a regular basis.
Enough of the winge.....
I sold all of my machines except for my DFX & MX5.
I've always been a great fan of the ML FBS system. but couldn't come to terms with the two number TID's. (F & C)
I had two CTX's & an T Trac, & sold them for that reason. (Too used to single number TID's......Whites, Fisher, etc.....)
I have been researching detectors over the past two months, & the detector I have been looking for has been out there for years.
ML Safari...FBS....Single number TID's.
My Postie delivered a Minelab Safari this morning, & I also received an RNB Battery from Clegy in the same delivery.
I have used an RNB in My DFX since they were released, & did not hesitate to order one for the Safari.
Now, the fun starts.
Hopefully, I'll have something to post soon.

CP

PS: all Safari tips appreciated

Congrats on the new detector!
Think of it as a slower FBS machine and sweep accordingly. Perhaps the best tip is to get Andy Sabisch's book (just rereleased) and study that. It really helped me with my learning curve.

I wouldn't worry about a lot of detectorists on a beach. Most of what I see swinging a coil don't know what they are doing.

Thanks, Champ.

I've ordered the latest Sabisch book, & it should be here in the next few days.

I'm pretty sure it will put me on the right track
