I had a couple of hours this morning so I went back to the nail yard. If it didn't spit some oldies at me now and then I would never go there again. It's so obnoxiously FULL OF IRON!! I had the 6" on still, so I went for a walk in the spider webs. Not fun, and dug a pile of old nails again. Got my first scent signal and it was a 1925 Wheat. Kept on keepin on, and got this antique Canada Customs button. I figure 1915 ish. On my way out without a silver (as is often the case here) I hit the nail bin, which is even MORE full of iron and trash. Yes. MORE!!
Got a terrible signal. All broken and scratchy, which is also typical lol. Dug it for fun. Naturally, iron in the hole. And a .22 casing. I was about to close it but stuck the pinpointer back in and it went off. Grabbed a handful of dirt and opened my hand. I almost had a heart attack. My 2nd 1897 barber this week.
Just shows you never REALLY know unless you dig it.
